Brian Hickerson has broken his silence following the death of actress Hayden Panettiere, though his response has been limited as the investigation into her death continues. Panettiere died at age 36 after being found unresponsive at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina.
In a statement provided to TMZ, Hickerson’s attorney, Sloan Ellis, said,
“Hayden’s death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed.”
The attorney added that authorities had publicly confirmed there were “no signs of foul play” and said there would be no further comment
“out of respect for Hayden’s loved ones and the ongoing investigation.”
Investigation Into Hayden Panettiere’s Death Remains Active
The Greenville City Police Department remains the lead investigative agency, while the Drug Enforcement Administration is also assisting with the case. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has said the cause and manner of Panettiere’s death remain pending further investigation and additional studies.

Authorities found no signs of trauma that contributed to her death, while police have said foul play is not suspected at this stage. However, the investigation remains ongoing.
Hickerson and his brother Zach were present at the apartment when Panettiere was found unresponsive. Emergency responders attempted CPR before Panettiere was pronounced dead.
Hickerson and Panettiere had a long and complicated relationship that began in 2018 and was later affected by domestic violence cases involving Hickerson. As the investigation continues, his attorney’s statement makes clear that he will not publicly discuss further details surrounding Panettiere’s death.
