Pro-Palestine activists are planning a demonstration outside Ed Sheeran’s Philadelphia concert on September 19 following the controversy surrounding Macklemore’s removal from the singer’s tour.

According to TMZ, the Philly Palestine Coalition and Shut Down D&Z are encouraging supporters to gather outside Lincoln Financial Field. The groups are protesting what they view as Sheeran’s involvement in Macklemore’s removal after the rapper made comments supporting Palestine during two New Jersey shows.

Sheeran has denied making the decision himself, saying the tour promoter was responsible for removing Macklemore. The dispute reportedly intensified after Robert Kraft and other NFL team owners objected to Macklemore performing at their stadiums.

Kraft previously said Macklemore’s “recent actions” and earlier conduct were “deeply offensive” to the Jewish community, according to TMZ.

The planned Philadelphia demonstration adds another layer to the ongoing controversy as Sheeran’s tour continues.
