According to TMZ Sports and SFist, the incident occurred in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Giants had already announced that Bader’s plantar fasciitis had worsened and that he would undergo an MRI after the accident. According to SFist, witnesses said Bader collided with the rear of a San Francisco Fire Department truck, and the scooter’s wheel rolled over his foot, causing a significant injury. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses also told reporter Matt Lively that they saw Bader at local bars before the crash. However, authorities have not confirmed whether alcohol played any role in the incident.
Bader signed a two-year, $20 million contract with the Giants before the 2026 season. The reported accident adds to an injury-plagued campaign and has raised concerns that his season may already be over.
