The incident has not been officially confirmed by prison authorities, who cited privacy and security policies when asked about the matter.
According to TMZ, the confrontation allegedly began after another inmate made disrespectful remarks toward Combs. Multiple unnamed sources told the outlet that the disagreement escalated into a brief fight involving pushing and exchanged punches before prison staff intervened.
Prison officials decline to discuss reported incident
TMZ reports that Combs was placed in solitary confinement immediately after the alleged altercation. It remains unclear whether he is still being held there or whether additional disciplinary action will follow.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to discuss the reported incident, stating:
“The Federal Bureau of Prisons does not comment on the conditions of confinement, disciplinary matters, or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety, and security concerns.”
A representative for FCI Fort Dix also told TMZ that the facility could not disclose internal information regarding inmates in its custody.
According to the TMZ report, Combs is currently scheduled for release in February 2028, assuming he continues to earn available good-conduct credits.
