Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, whose legal name is Saul Hudson, is asking a Los Angeles County judge to address an alleged $1.5 million overpayment in spousal support to his ex-wife, Perla Ferrar.
According to TMZ, Slash says the error was caused by his longtime business manager failing to adjust payments as required under the terms of their divorce settlement.
Slash Wants Future Payments Reduced
Slash has been paying Ferrar a base amount of $100,000 per month, along with additional quarterly payments connected to his income. He claims those additional payments should have been subject to lower maximum limits beginning in 2021.
According to court documents reported by TMZ, the guitarist believes the failure to adjust the payments resulted in approximately $3.42 million in additional annual support payments during 2021, 2022 and 2023, ultimately creating an alleged $1.5 million overpayment.
Slash reportedly attempted to resolve the matter privately in March by applying the disputed amount as a credit against future payments. Ferrar’s representatives did not agree to the proposed arrangement and requested additional financial documentation before accepting the credit.
The documents indicate that Slash’s business manager says the requested records were subsequently provided, but the two sides have yet to reach an agreement over the proposed deductions.
Slash and Ferrar’s divorce settlement was reached in 2018, with the guitarist agreeing to pay $6.6 million as part of the settlement and continuing spousal support of $100,000 per month.
Slash is not seeking to recover the alleged $1.5 million through a direct repayment from Ferrar. Instead, he wants the court to authorize him to deduct the amount from future spousal support payments.
The dispute remains a matter for the Los Angeles County court to resolve, and the allegations in Slash’s filing have not been established as a final court finding.
