Halle Berry has completed a court-required parenting education and mediation program as her custody dispute with ex-husband Olivier Martinez continues to unfold in Los Angeles.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Berry signed a certificate confirming that she completed the Los Angeles Superior Court’s “Our Children First” online mediation orientation and parent education program on October 6. The program is required for parents involved in certain custody or visitation disputes.
BERRY COMPLETES REQUIRED PARENTING COURSE
The latest filing comes as Berry and Martinez remain involved in a contentious custody case concerning their son, Maceo. The former couple finalized their divorce in 2023 after previously agreeing to share custody.

The dispute intensified following allegations made by Martinez regarding an incident involving Berry and Maceo while he was playing a virtual reality game. Martinez alleged that Berry put their son in a headlock and choked him. Berry has denied the accusation, maintaining that the incident involved playful roughhousing and that she never placed her hands around Maceo’s neck.
Berry has also described herself as a domestic violence survivor and advocate and stated in court documents that she would never intentionally hurt her child. Her legal team has disputed Martinez’s account, while Berry has separately raised concerns about Maceo’s behavioral, educational and therapeutic needs.
A judge previously granted Martinez a temporary restraining order that changed Berry’s parenting time while the case proceeds. Berry is currently permitted court-ordered visitation, while Martinez has temporary primary custody.
The former couple is scheduled to return to Los Angeles Superior Court on October 16, 2026, when the court is expected to consider the ongoing custody dispute and related requests.
